Object of procurement is an analytical information source for country and bank sector analysis. Finnvera's regional managers follow the economic and political developments in the main markets of Finnish exports, the focus in non-OECD-countries. The country analysts write country assessments for Finnvera decision making and formulate country cover policies. For financial data the IMF and IBRD sources are used. The bank analysts write bank analyses and classify banks. At the moment Finnvera has exposure for 85 markets but new countries of interest emerge as Finnvera works on a demand –driven basis – exporters (=Finnvera clients) make enquiries and apply for cover, and Finnvera studies the countries where there is guarantee demand.

The procured information source must allow retrieval of academic analytical reports on the geopolitical situations of various countries and regions. The service should provide quick access to digestible content that explains current developments in the target country and offers analysis on the impact of the developments and how the situation is expected to evolve.

The contracting authority is seeking access to a ready-to-use, browser-based database service. The database must contain academic and analytical reports on the geopolitical situations of various countries and regions. It should allow efficient retrieval of reports related to politically high-risk countries (e.g., countries in Africa, Asia, and South America). The service must include analyses covering at least the past five years and provide timely, easily digestible insights into current developments and projected trends in the target countries.

The service being acquired must meet the following criteria:

- a repository/ inventory of information – the reports are not drafted on demand but are readily available in the service

- forward looking assessments, drafted by by PhD level analysts

- quick reaction/ judgements of actual events – scenarios & deep-dives

- possibility to reach out to analysts and discuss in more detail

- global geographical scope including all regions of emerging markets – at the moment Finnvera has exposure for 85 countries and new countries of interest emerge according to the wishes of Finnvera clients

- possibility to tailor the user interface e.g. according to area/ industrial sector

What we are not looking for:

- daily news – a number of other sources is already used to follow news – what we need is deeper analysis on the impact of current events
