Kuvaus
The object of the procurement is an open-source interactive humanoid robot developed for a wide range of applications, with an emphasis on enhancing human-machine interaction. It is designed to operate in various environments that require intelligent and adaptive robotics, such as research, education, and service tasks in social and healthcare settings. The robot includes advanced sensor systems, such as visual, auditory, and actuator sensors, which enable AI-based (artificial intelligence-based) interaction and remote operation. Students from various fields of study will practice programming the robot, and citizens will test and interact with its artificial intelligence in Finnish.
The robot will be placed in a research and development environment and used for education, research, and the development of social, health, and rehabilitation services in collaboration with companies. The robot will be utilized in educational and corporate settings, as well as in teaching, to demonstrate scenarios that require robotics-based functions, such as facilitating activities and interactive situations.
The following case description illustrates how the robot being procured will be utilized:
The robot platform provides a versatile environment where students can delve into the principles of robotics and artificial intelligence through practical exercises. It enables the development and testing of advanced AI algorithms in areas such as human-robot interaction, emotion recognition, activity monitoring, and safe navigation within home or care facility environments. This platform supports the creation of robotic applications that assist with everyday tasks, reminders, cognitive stimulation, and basic physical assistance. Additionally, it serves as a useful platform for teaching the fundamental principles of robotics and artificial intelligence through concrete demonstrations and projects.
The procurement is funded by the Council of Oulu Region, RoboSoteLab project (Just Transition Fund, JTF).
